My narrative is structured to highlight pivotal moments, such as my evolution from a competitive oarsman to an Olympic Champion, intertwined with my 22-year career in the Navy. Furthermore, this book delves into my subsequent career as a global expert in oil spill pollution abatement and control. Amidst these adventures, my narrative also reflects on my personal life, including three marriages and the joy of fatherhood to my beloved daughter.

While it may have happened sixty years ago, my Olympic experience spins a timeless tale of youthful ambition and the intense physical and emotional exertion that turned my dream into reality.

Told in my own voice, and augmented with photos,, training, and competitive accounts, I bring my picaresque journey to life with details and humorous asides that come from a love of competitive rowing and the perspective gained from reaching a pinnacle in the world of sports.
